Loïs
Swiss born in Lausanne, Loïs Amar-Brussaard already aspires as a child to get closer to cultural centers which in her mind would bring «original » stimuli to her imagination. It is in Geneva that she perfects her knowledge of drawing as well as Plastic Arts.
Teaching studies enable her to progressively move to organizing many activities which center mostly on art and to tend towards her own fulfillment as well as that of her students. Loïs then specializes herself in Interior Design which is still at the core of her professional activities to this day. She also continues to teach regularly drawing and Plastic Arts subjects.
Encouraged by her family and friends, she starts exhibiting in the nineties in various regional art retrospectives. With a growing recognition of her talent, Loïs mounts her first « solo exhibition» at the end of 1998 in Geneva. Success encourages her to continue and diversify her approaches.
Her pronounced taste for exploring new techniques, mixed media, non figurative and contemporary art, regularly lead her to non conformist creation. Strongly influenced by three years of living in Asia, she feels a particular attraction towards the natural simplicity and purity of japanese forms.
