"Lou
Rassado" means: the lizzard in provencal, or to be more precise in
"patois gardois" (local vernacular language, as it is in the
Gard department in Languedoc-Roussillon that our village of Vallabrix is
situated).
We have
chosen to name our house after these friendly animals, as one of its many
charms is to see them bask in the sun on the stones of the garden most of
the year.
The logo which you
see on our Home Page is in fact a Salamander. More colourful, it was
chosen by the daughter of a friend of ours to illustrate our website and
we like it.
In the following
pages we invite you to:
- A visit of our
house "Lou Rassado" and
of its beautiful garden. If you like it, you may rent
it for your holiday.
- An presentation of Loïs's
most important artwork: mainly paintings, but also "collages"
et other mixed-mixtures presented during various personal exhibitions
both in Switzerland and Malaysia. And since this year, garden
furniture and objects which she has "revisited".
- A page specifically dedicated to "IN-OUT",
the new partneship created with her friend Martine Wicki to present
their respective work in the context of the famous "Jardins en Fête"
exhibition which is organized every year in the park of "Château
de Coppet" near Geneva.
- A choice of
photographs taken during several trips we made while being stationned
during three years in Malaysia.
- A selection of links
to some of our friends websites or other we particularly like. You
will also discover some of specific interests or hobbies.
- A galery of superb
photographs by our japanese friend Akira
Nakata.
- A page
specifically dedicated to Francis's new
professional activities.
We hope that you will
continue to visit it with interest. Please let us have your comments and
suggestions.
